How to find out DNS servers?

Is there a command that you can type in command prompt to figure them out. I thought typing dnslookup would work, and it seemed to have worked. But when I type those in for the DNS servers instead of having the setting to automatically get from ISP, it won't work. By the way I'm trying to set up a static IP address and to do that I have to manually type in my DNS servers. I don't want to call the ISP either.
