Which tech certification should I pursue?

I am pursuing a career in IT and I've already had 2 years experience as a Tech II for an ISP. I am pursuing other opportunities, and I need to get some certifications to be legit. Where should I start? I have no certifications yet, but its not like I need an explanation of DNS servers or VoIP sysems... Basically, what will get me some "street cred" with potential employers, and where should I start? A+?
