A question about wireless internet?

I have an internet service provider who provides internet to my desktop computer (via a cable). I intend to buy a laptop which has wifi capabilities and I also want to use my mobile phone as a modem. The question is: will I be able to connect to the Internet by using the services of my current ISP or do I need another one?
