Is my boyfriend kidding or is he really being mean to hurt my feelings?

I was in the same situation from when I was 19 to when I was 21.He was so nice at first (at least I think he was) then he just got abusive in so many ways.Mental and some physical abuse,stealing thousands of dollars from me,cheating on me.I loved him,but I wanted out,every time I tried to leave he'd cry so I stayed with him.That only meant for him that he had more control over me and kept getting worse.I finally had to end it when I thought I was pregnant.(not sure if I was or not,couldn't get a confirmation in time,I think I had a miscarriage though.)I couldn't let my kids get yelled at and beat and I didn't want them to see their dad doing that to me(we were engaged).You just have to leave him for good and find someone better.
